Amy Winehouse has been in the country for almost a week, relaxing by the pool at her hotel in Santa Teresa, and performing in Florianópolis and Rio. Apparently she's been disappearing in the middle of the concert and then ramdomly coming back on stage during her one hour show, but so far all reviews of her concert have been pretty positive here. She is playing in Recife tomorrow night, and in São Paulo on the 15.
Buati is hosting a fashion edition in honor of the fall shows in Rio this coming Friday at Erótika, with DJs Gustavo Tatá, Jonjo Jury, Carla Multedo, and Badenov.

My favorite showcards this season in Brazil come from Way Model Management. The agency invited prodigy graphic designer Romeu Silveira, responsible for U Mag and From Brazil With Love, to do the artwork on the cards for the fall shows in Brazil in January and the result is pretty stunning. PS- I am beyond excited Lea T. is featured in the package. I am very curious as to what labels will be booking her, and I hope she gets to walk at Animale with Raquel. Having a chance to Interview the two of them together backstage almost makse me want to wish I would cover the shows in Brazil this season.

After several years covering the Brazilian shows here and at V magazine, my request for press and backstage credentials was denied this season, and I have decided that I will not be covering the spring 2011 collections on Made In Brazil. My decision has nothing to do with retaliation. I just felt that I should not devote my time and energy in covering an event that does not want to be featured here in the first place. I will, however, make sure to write about the new models and castings this season. The current issue of L'Officiel Brazil features a couture story with Viviane Orth and Fabiana Semprebom shot by Steven Gomillion & Dennis Leupold. As much as I think the story would have had more impact as a solo girl feature (and by that I obviously mean just Viviane), it is still one of my favorite spreads from the magazine this year.
