Model João Zavaski graces the cover of the special issue of ffw Mag! dedicated entirely to the spring 2011 shows in Rio. The collections story photographed by Vavá Ribeiro and styled by Heleno Manoel for the issue is already my favorite editorial in Brazil this season, with a stunning mix of prints and textures, and a flawless casting of fresh faces that includes the likes of Lovani Pinnow, Thana Khunen, and newcomer Lucas Kittel. Vavá Ribeiro, one of my very favorite Brazilian photographers, is opening a solo show at Galeria Mezanino in São Paulo this coming Saturday. I will not be in the city this weekend, but I will make sure to stop by the gallery first thing next week to check out the exhibit. If you are in São Paulo, I highly recommend that you don't miss it. The show runs until September 4 only.
