This Is How You Make Carnival In Rio An Even Gayer Experience

1214099

Brazil Next and ISL are launching Camarote Boom, the first ever gay box at the Sambadrome in Rio. According to the press release delivered to my mailbox, the box will feature basically all the services every other VIP box does (open bar, dinner buffet, dance floor, security), with the usual gay bonuses: go-go boys, drag queens, and electronic music DJs. I have no idea why anyone would need go-go boys and someone like Peter Rauhofer spinning while they are at the Sambadrome for the Carnival parade, but I really like the idea of an all-gay box for Carnival in Rio. If it is done right, it can be something pretty major.

I emailed Brazil Next regarding prices and purchasing information, but unfortunately no one was able to help me with that, which was disappointing considering they were the ones who emailed me the release about the box. Maybe one of you guys will have better luck getting more information at [email protected].

Where To Stay Next Time You Are In Rio

If you are going to Rio to party non-stop, then yes, get a place in Ipanema or Leblon as usual. However, if you are traveling to Rio anytime soon and you are looking to relax and detox, then I suggest checking out Mama Ruisa, located in the heart Santa Teresa.

The brand new bed & breakfast offers seven modern and luxurious rooms with breathtaking views of the Sugar Loaf and the bay of Guanabara, and a swimming pool surrounded by palm trees. It also provides its guests with a masseur and a private chauffeur. Sounds to me like the perfect place to spend the weekend after attending all the new year's eve parties. • Fast fashion the Brazilian way: designers Amir Slama (formerly of Rosa Chá), Isabela Capeto, and Reinaldo Lourenco created summer collections for mass retailer C&A.
  • Henrique Gendre shot Missy Rayder in Rio for Vogue Brazil. Let's hope this is good.

  • Tickets for the next Freedom On Board cruise are already available. The second edition of the gay cruise will leave the port of Santos on February 5 for four days of parties, stopping in Buzios and Ilhabela.
  • Did you guys watch the season premiere of V this week? I thought it looked promising, but not as creepy as I remember it. You can download the pilot for free on iTunes.

More Fashion Rocks, An Interview With Miro Moreira, And Dita Von Teese

  • The poster chosen for the movie Do Começo Ao Fim is the one on the right.
  • Isabeli Fontana took her kids Lucas and Zion to the beach in Rio yesterday. So cute.
  • There was a male model completely naked in the pool at the Fasano for the Calvin Klein party last night (big thanks to Alessandra Ambrósio for posting the picture on twitter).
  • Models.com interviews Joseph Altuzarra.
  • Passport magazine does Florianópolis.
  • Jesus Luz was spotted with his manager and two brothers last night in Leblon. He spinned in Brasília on Saturday night.
  • Brazilian Gustavo Marzolla shot by Rick Day.
  • Martha Streck's new polaroids.
  • In an interview published today, Miro Moreira denied the gay rumors, complained that two famous designers asked him to take his clothes off during a fitting to try on a swimsuit (and we all know who he is talking about), mentioned that a famous actor tried to kiss him in the bathroom of a nightclub, and said that him and actor Reynaldo Giannechini hardly know each other and have never dated. My least favorite sentence to come out of his mouth "Gosto é de mulher, graças a Deus" (or "Thank God I like women"). Sorry Miro, but that sounded just awful.
  • Dita Von Teese will be performing at The Week in São Paulo this Wednesday night.

Hell & Heaven: A New Circuit Party Will Take Over Bahia In November

0916093

If you were looking for an excuse to flee the country during Thanksgiving, get your passport ready and look no further: a three-day electronic music festival (a.k.a. a circuit party) will take place at Costa do Sauípe in Bahia from November 20 to November 22.

Hell & Heaven will be the first gay circuit event held at a resort in the country. Expect a masquerade ball, a pool party, a beach party, and a pretty major line up of DJs, including Brazilians Rodrigo Patrício, Renato Ratier, Paulo Ciotti, João Neto, Felipe Lira, and Ana Paula, as well as international attractions Pablo Thomas, Wayne G, and Abel.

Tickets for the event are already on sale, and prices range from R$613 to R$1,232, including accommodations and a passport to all the parties. For more information, visit New Line Tour and Costa do Sauípe.
