Way Model Management Fall/ Winter 2011 Showcards

My favorite showcards this season in Brazil come from Way Model Management. The agency invited prodigy graphic designer Romeu Silveira, responsible for U Mag and From Brazil With Love, to do the artwork on the cards for the fall shows in Brazil in January and the result is pretty stunning. PS- I am beyond excited Lea T. is featured in the package. I am very curious as to what labels will be booking her, and I hope she gets to walk at Animale with Raquel. Having a chance to Interview the two of them together backstage almost makse me want to wish I would cover the shows in Brazil this season.

The Rio Spring Collections In ffw Mag!

Model João Zavaski graces the cover of the special issue of ffw Mag! dedicated entirely to the spring 2011 shows in Rio. The collections story photographed by Vavá Ribeiro and styled by Heleno Manoel for the issue is already my favorite editorial in Brazil this season, with a stunning mix of prints and textures, and a flawless casting of fresh faces that includes the likes of Lovani Pinnow, Thana Khunen, and newcomer Lucas Kittel. From top to bottom, left to right: Tayane Leão, Izabel Goulart, Fabiana Semprebom, Martha Streck, Bruna Tenório, Jeisa Chiminazzo, Thana Kuhnen, Laís Ribeiro, Daiane Conterato, Aline Weber, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrósio, Flavia de Oliveira, Caroline Trentini, and Gisele.

I hadn't really commented on the big Fashion's Night Out show at Lincoln Center because I was shooting on location all day yesterday. I finally got to read everything about it and watch some clips this morning, and it looked like quite an undertaking. So thrilled to see many Brazilian girls on the runway, and while I did not really miss Isabeli, I really wish Raquel Zimmermann had also been part of it. Already cannot wait to watch the FNO documentary.

Loving this girl: Brazilian Thana Kuhnen made her big debut at the couture shows back in July, and walked for Dior, Haider Ackermann, Gaultier, and Ungaro this week in Paris.

  • Fashion's Night Out will also take place in Brazil. Iguatemi Mall, Market Place, Daslu, and stores on Oscar Freire street will be open on the night of September 10 in São Paulo, while Shopping Leblon will be open in Rio.
  • Raquel Zimmermann for Hermès.
  • Jon Kortajarena's crack lands the new Tom Ford Eyewear campaign.
  • Thana Kuhnen, who opened the Dior couture show this season, photographed by James Mahon.
  • The September Issue, then and now, by Cathy Horyn.
  • This is what New York Fashion Week looks like.
  • Speedo break courtesy of Vogue Nippon.
  • Is Shakira's She Wolf the new Single Ladies?
  • Listen to Whitney Houston's Million Dollar Bill.
  • #BrazilwantsLadyGaga, but a rumored concert in Rio on November 22 has not been confirmed yet.
  • If you happen to be in São Paulo tonight, I highly recommend either the Four Seasons Party (for the cute crowd) or the PostiT party at nightclub Vegas (for an overdose of the best pop music and teens doing Britney's choreography).
  • Starting today smoking is legally prohibited in all closed public spaces in São Paulo, which means that I will finally be able to go out and not have my clothes and hair smell like an ashtray by the time I get home.
