Beach Properties

One of my favorite things about Punta del Este is the architecture. The houses built over the past years in Montoya, Manantiales, and Jose Ignacio, are absolutely the perfect definition of what a beach home should be. I posted some pictures a year ago, and snapped a few more houses this past week on my way to the beach. Check them out after the jump.

Valet Parking At The Beach

Only in South America (or in Jose Ignacio to be more precise) would you be able to valet park your car right at the beach.

I have to say that the lifeguards at the beach in Jose Ignacio yesterday give the ones in Rio a good run for their money. More pictures after the jump.

It's All About The Infinity Edge Pools

The famous Acqua building at Playa Brava in Punta del Este has finally been completed this year. Designed by Rafael Vinõly, the building features 5 apartments with infinity edge pools overlooking the sea (two of them being penthouses), a large outdoor swimming pool, and 14 elevators with digital access controls. Although the project looks a lot more exciting when seen from above, I stopped by yesterday and took a few pictures.

For more information, visit the Acqua website. More pictures after the jump.

Morning View

The weather in Punta del Este just couldn't be better than it is today.

Talking Ice Cream

I am absolutely addicted to ice cream. I have visited every major ice cream shop in Sicily and Italy, but none of them compare to the ice cream at Arlecchino in Punta del Este. This year the traditional heladeria finally opened a second shop, located strategically in Manantiales, on the way to Jose Ignacio.

I highly recommend trying monte bianco, flan de dulce de leche, and tiramisu.
