Carnival turned out to be pretty late this year, and clubs are pulling all the stops when it comes to parties, DJs, and international attractions. I won't be traveling this year because of work and a few other commitments, but there is plenty to do even for those who are staying in São Paulo like me (Ms. Kelly Rowland is performing in the city for the first time ever). The summer edition of Bootie Rio takes place this coming Friday, January 28, at Espaço Acústica, with DJs João Brasil, André Paste, and the guys from New Laje giving away popsicles and coconut water. Don't miss it if you are in Rio. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Ticketronic, and part of the proceeds will be donated to help the victims of the floods and mudslides in Rio de Janeiro.

I wasn't in Rio for new year's, but if I had been there this year the Buati party at Erotika on December 29 is certainly the one party I would not have missed. The boys of Let's Club in Brasília put together a major bash at Blue Space this past weekend to celebrate the party's first anniversary. Singer (and soon-to-be Brazilian gay diva) Wanessa performed on Friday night, and on Saturday night thirteen of the best shows performed at the party during its first year took the stage again.
