  • Alessandra Ambrósio walked Prada today in Milan. The show was broadcast live online this afternoon, but I particularly thought the broadcast sucked compared to D&G's earlier today. It was painful to try to watch it in spite of how brilliant the show was.
  • Lions nightclub opened last night in São Paulo.
  • Newcomer Renata Sozzi is rumored to have booked the next Calvin Klein campaign. Expect to also see her on the pages of Teen Vogue soon.
  • Siri Tollerod made a pit stop in Brazil last weekend to pose for accessories label Victor Hugo.
  • Evandro Soldati, Michael Camiloto, and Marlon Teixeira shot the Vila Romana fall 2010 campaign in São Paulo this week.
  • Model turned TV host Pedro Andrade has signed with a Brazilian agency.
  • Jesus Luz got beer thrown in his face last Sunday night.
  • Absolut has launched a new berri açaí flavor.
  • California Dreaming.
  • Hedi Slimane on the future of fashion.
  • Izabel Goulart is shooting H&M in Stockholm. Follow her on twitter @iza_goulart.

    1112092
  • The 17th MixBrasil Film Festival opens tonight with the official premiere of the much anticipated Do Começo Ao Fim, and a bash at The Week in São Paulo. For those of you who can't wait until November 27 to see the movie, advance screenings are scheduled for this Saturday in São Paulo and Rio. For the complete schedule of the 17th MixBrasil Festival, click here.
  • Jason Lewis will be landing in Brazil next month to start shooting the new TV pilot Rio!, in which he will play an international detective who comes to Brazil to investigate a crime, and decides to stay after he falls in love with Rio. Ving Rhames is also in the cast of the show.
  • Lorenzo Martone has teamed up with former Elite marketing director Ryan Brown to ARC NY, a public relations agency just for models. According to Fashionista, Alessandra Ambrósio, Fernanda Motta are already clients. As for Lorenzo and Marc Jacobs' wedding, I guess it will have to wait until next year.
  • São Paulo hipsters got a brand new club with the opening of Hot Hot last night.
  • Also worth checking out: Model Matheus de Davi in the new 212 Carolina Herrera ad campaign, Milan Vukmirovic for VMan, Isabeli Fontana and Felipe Hulse in the summer C&A ad spots, and Cathy Horyn getting a lesson from J. Alexander.
  • Madonna (yes, more Madonna!) is in São Paulo this afternoon. She visited Casa do Saber, where she attended a Kabbalah lesson for kids, and had lunch at the Fasano. No word yet if she will be making it to Michael Berg's lecture at the Kabbalah Center in Jardins this evening, but there are already fans waiting there to meet her. In the meantime, Steven Klein is in Rio shooting the new Rosa Chá campaign.

5 Years Of Babylon At The Week

The Week São Paulo celebrated the fifth anniversary of its Saturday night party Babylon this past weekend with DJ Chris Cox. I haven't been to the club since Gay Pride, but I have heard there were some pretty cool changes made to the decor. Now put on your sunglasses, take off your t-shirt, and press play to watch a clip of the party, which went on until 10 in the morning on Sunday.

I need to make it to The Week one of these weekends to make some new videos of the go-go boys for the blog.

Prada, Rio 2016, Twitter, And Cauã Reymond Playing Gay

    0925096

  • It is going to be a crystal clear pantless spring according to Prada. Lucite is back (and I can only imagine what exciting news that will be for Brazilian women).
  • Fantastic Man has launched a new website.
  • South America has never hosted a Summer Olympics, but things may change on October 2 if Rio is announced the host city for the 2016 Olympics. Here is why the city is a top contender for the bid.
  • TV presenter Luciano Huck is the first Brazilian to have over a million followers on twitter.
  • Gisele works a maternity dress.
  • If you happen to bump into Cauã Reymond at a gay club in São Paulo, it is not your lucky day. The actor is making the rounds at gay clubs doing research for a gay character he will play in a new primetime soap.
  • The short-lived nightclub Megga will reopen in São Paulo tomorrow night with a party headlined by DJ Manny Lehman. The parties at the club will be monthly from now on.
  • The Week is hosting a new all-white theme party tomorrow night called Nuit Blanche.

Salvador Is Getting A Brand New Gay Club

0925091

A new nightclub is opening tomorrow night in Salvador. Located in a three-story building in the prestigious Rio Vermelho neighborhood, San Sebastian Salvador is destined to quickly become the top club in the city, with a lighting and sound system developed by the same company responsible for São Paulo's The Week and D-Edge, a lounge, a VIP area, and views of the water around the dancefloor.

The gay parties will take place on Saturdays and will be called Blessed Night. For the opening tomorrow, DJs Eric Cullemberg and Felipe Lira will be spinning along with the club's resident DJ Anne Louise. "We want to put Salvador on the schedule of all the biggest DJs in the country, and also be able to export  our local DJs to other cities," said José Augusto Vasconcelos, partner in the club. Sounds promising.

Make sure to check out San Sebastian Salvador and send me more pictures if you happen to travel to Bahia anytime soon.

  • Rio de Janeiro is up for Best Global Destination at the 2009 TripOut Gay Travel Awards, while São Paulo's nightclub The Week is nominated for Best Gay Bar In The World.
