Alessandra Ambrósio At Prada, Renata Sozzi, And Pedro Andrade

  • Alessandra Ambrósio walked Prada today in Milan. The show was broadcast live online this afternoon, but I particularly thought the broadcast sucked compared to D&G's earlier today. It was painful to try to watch it in spite of how brilliant the show was.
  • Lions nightclub opened last night in São Paulo.
  • Newcomer Renata Sozzi is rumored to have booked the next Calvin Klein campaign. Expect to also see her on the pages of Teen Vogue soon.
  • Siri Tollerod made a pit stop in Brazil last weekend to pose for accessories label Victor Hugo.
  • Evandro Soldati, Michael Camiloto, and Marlon Teixeira shot the Vila Romana fall 2010 campaign in São Paulo this week.
  • Model turned TV host Pedro Andrade has signed with a Brazilian agency.
  • Jesus Luz got beer thrown in his face last Sunday night.
  • Absolut has launched a new berri açaí flavor.
  • California Dreaming.
  • Hedi Slimane on the future of fashion.
  • Izabel Goulart is shooting H&M in Stockholm. Follow her on twitter @iza_goulart.

Isabeli Fontana, Martha Streck, And The Brazilian Fashion Awards

  • No more airbrushed Madonna. The new Louis Vuitton resort ad campaign features Isabeli Fontana shot in the Hamptons by Patrick Demarchelier.
  • Martha Streck is the latest Brazilian model to shoot for Victoria's Secret.
  • Ads, ads, and more ads: Caroline Trentini for H&M by Sonia Rykiel, Ana Bela for the Gap, and André Ziehe for Blanco.
  • A dose of Mario Lopez to get you through the weekend.
  • Listen to Adam Lambert's debut single For Your Entertainment.
  • Watch Britney's new video for 3.
  • The 2nd Annual Brazilian Fashion Awards took place on Wednesday night, and it was such a joke that I felt embarassed to write an entire post about it. As expected, designers Gloria Coelho and Alexandre Herchcovitch took home the awards for Womenswear Designer and Menswear Designer of the Year, Raquel won Best Female Model, and Lenny got the award for Best Swimwear Collection. And while I am totally cool with that, all the other categories must have been either bought or voted by a panel high on crack. Juliana Jabour, a designer who's been in the business for at least six years, won Best New Designer, and left everyone perplexed as to why she was even running for that. Model Carmelita was the New Face of the Year, even though she is as much of a new face as Viviane Orth is, and Michael Camiloto won Best Male Model, a category in which the biggest Brazilian boys of the year such as Max Motta and Marlon Teixeira weren't even nominated. Stylist Flavia Lafer was awarded Best Fashion Blog, possibly for her extraordinary ability to take pictures from Jak & Jil's Blog and repost them with a comment in Portuguese. And for the most shocking moment of the evening, Vogue Brazil won Best Fashion Publication, which I find almost dangerous. I mean, giving an award to Vogue Brazil for the quality of their work is like petting a rottweiler in the head and giving it a treat right after it bites off the arm of a child or something. Just saying.

2 For 1 Special?

Caroline Trentini and Michael Camiloto, who worked together in the past in a campaign for Zoomp, teamed up again this season in not just one, but two ad campaigns: Express and Brazilian jeanswear label Forum.

Jesus Luz And Michael Camiloto For Pepe Jeans

Jesus Luz is not only going to be seen in the Dolce & Gabanna ads come fall. He is also doing the new Pepe Jeans campaign shot by Tom Munro, along with fellow Brazilian Michael Camiloto. Not bad at all for his first season. Another image after the jump.

Miss Brazil, Dior Homme, Luigi Masi, Dengue Mag, And Carlos Freire

  • Mb051109 Miss Rio Grande do Norte Larissa Costa Silva de Oliveira was crowned Miss Brazil 2009 (and in case you are wondering, she is in favor of gay marriage).
  • Kris Van Assche is in São Paulo casting boys for the spring Dior Homme show.
  • Raquel Zimmermann and Marcelle Bittar are now signed to Ford in Brazil. The agency has recently created a new division called Ford Management to handle its top female and male models.
  • Photographer Christian Gaul launched an online project called Dengue Mag.
  • New pictures of Carlinhos Freire by JD Ferguson.
  • Michael Camiloto, Caroline Trentini, and Gracie Carvalho for Express.
  • A double dose of Adriana Lima for Doritos.
  • Another video from Bruno, the Austrian Zac Efron.
  • Meet Luigi Masi, a Brazilian pop singer who is taking London by storm.
  • Jordin Sparks' new track Battlefield.
  • The results are in: check out the 2009 AfterElton Hot 100 winners.

The Boys In Milan

Is it just me or is there a shortage of Brazilian models on the runways in Milan this season?

From top to bottom, left to right: Luiz Afonso, Thomaz de Oliveira, Michael Camiloto, Carlos Sander, David Jensen, and Lucas Mascarini.

As much as I love the boys above, it is time for agencies here to start developing new talent.
