If you are in New York this week, make sure to stop by Global News on the corner of 8th Avenue and 12th street in the West Village and pick up a copy of the second issue of Made In Brazil Magazine. Global News received its final shipment of the magazine yesterday, and I am counting on you guys to make sure it sells out before Christmas.

The second issue of the magazine features 152 pages of pictures with over 30 Brazilian models and athletes, in a limited edition of only 1,000 numbered copies.

We ended up not using that picture of Diego Miguel for the second issue of Made In Brazil Magazine, but I love it so much that I wanted to share it with you guys here.

Diego was definitely one of the most talked about Brazilian boys this year, and I feel really lucky that we got to shoot him for a very sexy spread for the magazine. We had a really hard time finding a free slot in his schedule, but his agency in Brazil was kind enough to fly him to São Paulo after a shoot in Buenos Aires so that he could spend a day in the studio with us. His spread in the magazine is probably the most daring one in the issue, and I cannot thank him enough for trusting us and for having the balls to do it. I already cannot wait to work with him again.

I am very excited that Marcelo Chierighini, one of the four swimmers photographed by Cristiano Madureira for the second issue of Made In Brazil Magazine, won his first medal ever in a world swimming championship today. Along with Cesar Cielo, Nicholas Santos, and Nicolas Oliveira, Marcelo took home the bronze medal in the 4x100m men's relay in Dubai. The medal is also Brazil's first in this world champsionship.

They have received a very limited number of copies, so I would recommend not waiting until the weekend. Last time they sold out pretty fast.

As I mentioned before, the second issue of Made In Brazil Magazine is different from the first one in the sense that it features several stories by different photographers, stylists, and even illustrators. I was reluctant at first to sign on a fashion story  for the second issue because I want the focus of the publication to be on the boys and not clothes, but after looking at the images styled by my friend Heleno Manoel and shot by Hugo Toni, I am glad we ended up producing a collections editorial. It turned out really fresh and sexy, which is how I see the magazine, and it opened the door to possibly producing more fashion stories on Brazilian designers in upcoming issues.
