Way Model Management Fall/ Winter 2011 Showcards

My favorite showcards this season in Brazil come from Way Model Management. The agency invited prodigy graphic designer Romeu Silveira, responsible for U Mag and From Brazil With Love, to do the artwork on the cards for the fall shows in Brazil in January and the result is pretty stunning. View more showcards after the jump.

PS- I am beyond excited Lea T. is featured in the package. I am very curious as to what labels will be booking her, and I hope she gets to walk at Animale with Raquel. Having a chance to Interview the two of them together backstage almost makse me want to wish I would cover the shows in Brazil this season.

This Was Not The Season For Brazilian Girls In New York

Curves are already so last fall for New York designers, and I guess so are Brazilian girls. The shows last week were definitely not about bombshells or Victoria's Secret angels on the runway, with the exception of Alessandra Ambrósio's appearance at Marc Jacobs last Monday night.

If you are curious to know who some of the new Brazilian girls are, thank Rad Hourani for booking five of them for his spring 2011 show: Alicia Kuczman, Debora Müller, Marcélia Freesz (my favorite of the bunch), Luana Teifke, and Paula Lourenço.

As much as I love Alicia and Marcélia, the only new Brazilian girl right now I can see having a long international career is Lais Ribeiro. She walked for Donna Karan, Jason Wu, Marc by Marc Jacobs, DVF, Tommy Hilfiger, Oscar de la Renta, and more, and I am definitely looking forward to seeing her at the European shows.

  • Marlon Teixeira was photographed by Xevi Muntané for French magazine Crash. The Brazilian model has just confirmed the new ad campaigns for Iceberg and Armani Exchange.
  • Luana Teifke is the latest model to go blond.
  • Fast fashion the Brazilian way: designers Amir Slama (formerly of Rosa Chá), Isabela Capeto, and Reinaldo Lourenco created summer collections for mass retailer C&A.
  • Henrique Gendre shot Missy Rayder in Rio for Vogue Brazil. Let's hope this is good.
  • Narciso Rodriguez talks to The Huffington Post.
  • A first look at the one-sheet for Tom Ford's A Single Man.
  • Jon Kortajarena is GQ's Model Of The Year.
  • Brasília will be celebrating its 50th anniversay on April of next year, and wants Madonna to perform at the festivities. The singer is rumored to be landing in Rio next Tuesday. Is it time for a new Brazilian bf yet?
  • Tickets for the next Freedom On Board cruise are already available. The second edition of the gay cruise will leave the port of Santos on February 5 for four days of parties, stopping in Buzios and Ilhabela.
  • Did you guys watch the season premiere of V this week? I thought it looked promising, but not as creepy as I remember it. You can download the pilot for free on iTunes.
