A popcorn cart custom designed by street artist Magoo Felix for SP-Arte, the most important art fair in Latin America, which starts today and runs until May 15 at Ibirapuera Park. Eighty seven galleries are participating in the event this year, including some of my favorites like Mezanino, Fortes Vilaça, Zipper, and Choque Cultural. It is one of my favorite events in the city, so I highly recommend that you attend.

Choque Cultural, my favorite gallery in São Paulo, is hosting its first collective show of the year, featuring the works of street artists Base V, Cesar Profeta, Emerson Pingarilho, Fefê Talavera, Pacolli, and SHN. The exhibit opens tomorrow in the afternoon, and I am definitely checking it out.

Choque Cultural In Basel

The Brasilea Foundation in Basel, Switzerland, is currently hosting an exhibit in collaboration with São Paulo's Choque Cultural, my favorite street art gallery in Brazil. The exhibit features works by Carlos Dias, Daniel Melim, Presto, SHN, and Zezão, and runs until March 10.

Stephan Doitschinoff, Alessandra Ambrósio, Shakira, And Let's Club

Street artist Stephan Doitschinoff is releasing his first print in over three years tomorrow afternoon at Galeria Choque Cultural in São Paulo. The print in silkscreen and lettepress is entitled Céus Abertos and limted to 100 copies only. I am definitely getting one.
Alessandra Ambrósio will be replacing Gisele as the face of Brazilian label Colcci next season, and rumor has it that the label has signed on Ashton Kutcher to pose next to Alessandra in the campaign.
David Sims will be shooting Anja Rubik for the new Tufi Duek ad campaign next week in New York.

Let's Club in Brasília is celebrating its first anniversary this weekend, with parties tonight and tomorrow night. Singer Wanessa will be performing, and tons of hot go-go boys will be on stage along with DJs Hellen Chic, André Queiroz, Moshe, Fernando Cunha, and many others. Expect pictures and videos next week.

Obra de Construção, a new exhibit by Felipe Lopez, opens tomorrow afternoon at Choque Cultural in Pinheiros, while a new exhibit by Znort opens at Acervo da Choque.

Emma Thomas gallery also opens a new show tomorrow by Marcio Banfi entitled Ninguém é uma ilha.

If you haven't stopped by Cartel 011 to view the solo show by street artist Alexandre Sesper, make sure to check it out this weekend. It closes a week from today, and the gallery is only two blocks away from Choque Cultural. It is worth going for Alexandre's skate decks alone.
