Havaianas Got A Graffiti Makeover

Havaianas invited graffiti artists Chivitz, Finók, and Minhau to create exclusive prints for spring/ summer 2010-2011. I am definitely getting the ones in purple by Chivitz. View more pictures of the styles at Typograff.

Furniture By Rodrigo Almeida

Perhaps because of my new apartment and my move to São Paulo, I have become really interested in furniture design over the past year. I have not seen yet any of Rodrigo Almeida's pieces in person, but he is one of the new Brazilian designers that I find myself mostly interested in, possibly for the fact that there is a certain street art quality to his work, his unusual mix of materials, and of how cool everything he does would look on my concrete floors.

Opening Tonight In São Paulo

Galeria Mundo Mix is opening a lifestyle flagship store with over 5,000 square feet tonight in São Paulo. The new space, located at Avenida Augusta and Alameda Lorena, will feature art, furniture, books, and clothes by more than 40 different Brazilian designers, a corner devoted to new talent, and will also host  Galeria Mezanino, one of my favorite art galleries in the city, curated by Renato De Cara.

Along with the opening of the store tonight, Galeria Mezanino will be opening a solo exhibit of artist Eduardo Sancinetti. The exhibit will be officially open to the public from tomorrow until October 16. Make sure to stop by the new space this weekend if you are in the city.

This Is Going To Be The Coolest Office Building In São Paulo

Idea! Zarvos, one of my favorite developers in São Paulo,  is launching a new project for an office building at João Moura 1144 in the Pinheiros neighborhood. I received the folder for the project a few weeks ago, and the renderings look amazing. Make sure to check out more pictures and floorplans at the building's website. There is no word yet on when construction will be finished.

Melissa Teams Up With Designer Gaetano Pesce

Italian architect and designer Gaetano Pesce came up with a pretty cool concept for his first collaboration with Brazilian footwear label Melissa. His futuristic plastic ankle boots above can be easily customized with the help of a pair of scissors, and transformed into a pair of flats or even sandals.

The new Melissa by Gaetano Pesce will be available in August in the six color options pictured above.
