With a tribute to singer Roberto Carlos, samba school Beija-Flor ended up with a nearly perfect score and won Carnival in Rio for the twelfth time. My favorite Unidos da Tijuca, last year's winner, ended up in second place.

Parangolé's Leo Santana gets my vote for lead singer with most drag potential this Carnival. Love that he has the balls to wear sequined leggings, several different headpieces, the skinniest jeans around, and is wise enough to not ever wear a shirt.

Kelly Rowland performed at the E.Joy party in Floripa this past Sunday night. I really wish I could have gone to her show in São Paulo on Satuday night but unfortunately I was in bed with the flu. Hope she will be back this year for another performance.
