Matthew McConaughey In Búzios

And I was almost starting to think that he was going to keep his shirt on during his trip to Brazil with Camila Alves and baby Levi.

Is Búzios Destined To Become The New Rio?

I have not been to Búzios in a long time, but I am going to make an effort to spend a weekend there this summer (and by summer I mean winter in the Northern hemisphere). The city has been investing a lot of time and money lately in gay tourism, which I fully support.

If you don't want to be stranded on the beach tanning and watching the birds, you will be glad to know that circuit parties are not out of the question in Búzios. This past weekend the city celebrated its first annual Pride Fest with seminars and a big bash at Club Privilège. Check out pictures of the festivities at G Online.

Passport Does Búzios

With 23 beautiful beaches and great nightlife, Búzios is intent on becoming a major gay destination in the country. This weekend the city hosted its first Pride Fest, and this month it is also featured on the cover of Passport magazine. Make sure to check out the article if you are heading there anytime soon.

Plan Ahead: New Year's In Búzios

As part of my effort to get everyone to come down to Brazil for New Year's, the agents at Flex Voyage and Made In Brazil have also put together a package for New Year's in Búzios at Búzios Guest House, a gay-friendly bed & breakfast located less than 150 meters from beautiful beaches and 5 minutes away from the downtown area with all the restaurants and boutiques.

Búzios Guest House features 13 air-conditioned suites with Sky TV and mini-bar. There is a pool deck with bar, and complimentary breakfast buffet served in a room with ocean views. The staff would be happy to assist you in renting vehicles or boats, or in organizing tours and transfers.

The rates for New Year's at Búzios Guest House are listed after the jump with more pictures.

Hitting The Beach: Búzios Pride Fest

From November 9 to 12, Búzios will be hosting its first Pride Fest with the intent of establishing the city as an important gay destination in the country. The four-day event will feature seminars, and parties with DJs Monty Q, Pacheco, Flávio Lima, Ana Paula, and others.

Visit Búzios Pride Fest for more information about the event. I wish I could attend because I think Búzios has the potential to be a great alternative for boys who want to come down to Rio for New Year's.
