There is a very good reason all the models had to have their head shaved for the Alexandre Herchcovitch men's show yesterday: their faces were painted to look like skulls. The result was extremely impressive even in pictures and video. And the best part is that this collection in particular was so strong that the make up turned out to be a compliment to the clothes instead of overpowering them. It is the one of the few shows this season I wish I had the time to attend.
Watch a video of the Alexandre Herchcovitch men's fall/ winter 2010 show after the jump.
Fyi, the make up artist responsible for the show was Celso Kamura.

One of my drag queen muses in NYC has been doing that amazing skull face for a couple of years... i LOVE it... I think its also a heavy reference to the "Dia De Los Muertos"

Make-up very similar to this can be seen in the circa 1960 black and white horror flick entitled "Mr. Sardonicus".

I can appreciate the make-up effort and its magic. But I still prefer to see beautiful faces on the catwalk.
