A retired ex-sergeant from the military police was arrested last night for the killings of 13 gay men at a park in Carapicuíba, greater São Paulo. The ex-sergeant was arrested after a witness confirmed to have seen him shoot his last victim 12 times on August 19. He is also suspect of killing a transvestite in a hotel room in Osasco in October. Even though he was the last person seen with the victim at the hotel in Osasco, the suspect denied any involvement in both cases.
The killer is being referred to as "the rainbow maniac" by Brazilian newspapers, for targeting only homosexual men. The crimes started in February of 2007.
Security at Parque dos Paturis where the crimes took place has been reinforced.

I don't support the death penalty, but I hope this guy will be gangbanged every day in jail.

so tragic that something like this went on for so long without any breakthroughs. hopefully, the full extent of the law is pursued against this person. and to think, someone whose occupation was once to protect the public would commit such senseless violence against his fellow man. very sad.
