This season the Herchcovitch boys were not made up to look like gothic cowboys, heavy metal rockers, or alpinists as they were in the past. Since the show offered an interesting take on ethnic and religious conflicts, the models were turned into Arab desert troopers with greased up faces. I went backstage after the rehearsal and snapped some pictures.
Pictures and video from the Alexandre Herchcovitch men's spring 2009 collection after the jump.

I could have done without the ethnic scarves, but at least here they made sense. I liked all the printed shorts, and the bamboo sunglasses. And Michael Camiloto opening did not hurt either.

i hate to sound like a broken record, but once again i'm amazed by the color aspect of the brazilian society. i mean there are plenty of amazing looking guys with genuine arabian heritage in brazil and, at least based on the pictures shown, alex wasn't able to find ONE to be featured in his "arab desert troopers" themed show.

that's right SAM.
We must ask Miss Herchcovitch why choose blonde divas to play arab desert troopers.

Arab troopers? Well I like this heritage. Make-up makes me feel astonishing. I like this kind of a make-up for men.

Oh God! More twinks, this time with eyeliner. And, not one man of colour.
