Another Auf Wiedersehen Parade Has Begun

I finally got to watch the first episode of the fourth season of Project Runway on Sunday night when I got back from the beach. Now that the show is no longer available on iTunes (for a reason which still remains a mystery to me), I have to wait and download it somewhere else, which totally sucks.

I could do a little recap of the show as I have done in the past, but considering I will never be doing it on Thursday mornings now that I am in Brazil, I figured I would just express my feelings about the new season.

I can already tell that casting this season is better than ever. I don't necessarily mean that the designers are more talented than those of previous seasons, but I do mean that the execs at Bravo managed to enlist every single stereotype of a designer under the radar, and made sure that all of them were almost cartoon versions of those stereotypes.

It has only been one episode, and am already madly in love with last week's winner Rami Kashou. If he does not win this season of the show, I am certain that his looks would guarantee him a bright future on gay porn.

Carmen (who is echoing Kelis on the show) is the new Kara Saun. Carmen is also the one who thinks that if you haven't modeled you don't know a thing about design. That may explain why Gisele's line of sandals is so popular. Now I can't wait for Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima to join forces in a new label. If Carmen's philosophy is right, it will be amazing.

Christian is Jay from season one after several lipos, and with a much higher developed sense of style. Avril Lavigne attitude aside, he has the potential of creating great TV moments, and make it towards the end.

Jack is hot, but too fitness model for my taste. He will eventually get kicked off (and we all know it), but will hopefully provide more shirtless moments in underwear like those below.

And what can I say about Chris? If the poor thing could hardly made it across the lawn at Bryant Park, he will certainly also have a hard time making it further on the show. If there are lots of animal prints and crushed velvet on display this season, you know who to blame.

I could go on about the other candidates, but those have been my favorite to watch so far. Am sure I will change my mind as the show progresses though. As for the judges, they continue sharp as ever, and Nina Garcia even has a blog which is pure delight. Next time I am in New York I am going to track her down at the Elle offices, and have her sign her name on my chest with a sharpie.

Comments

The reason that Project Runway is no longer on Itunes is due to a falling out. NBC Universal which owns Bravo and several other networks had a disprute with Itunes over money. Basically NBC wanted to charge more and get more on the backend deal. Itunes said no and NBC Universal pulled all their shows and sister network shows off Itunes. Which sucks for the consumers. NBC is currently working on their on downloadable version.

Christian IS Chris Kattan playing "Mango" on Saturday Night Live. See the link:

Also, Carmen's personal look is VERY Klymaxx "Meeting In The Ladies Room". And I don't agree about Chris - he may not be able to run fast, but I bet he goes far in the competition.

Sarah Jesica Parker will be the guest judge on tonight´s Episode...
