A Semana: Gay Characters, Gay Radio, Prada's IPO, And Pride

Record network's upcoming soap Caminhos do Coração is going to ride the gay wave and feature two homosexual characters, played by actors Cláudio Henrich and Déo Garcez. Don't expect a gay kiss, however. Producers claimed the audience is not ready for it.

Cão Sem Dono, the new movie by Beto Brant and Renato Ciasca, took home the award for Best Film at Cine-PE Festival this past weekend. Santoro's new movie Não Por Acaso was awarded best cinematography, editing, and actor (for Leonardo Medeiros, not Rodrigo).

Gisele will no longer be spreading her angel wings. Rumor has it that she did not renew her contract with Victoria's Secret.

Prada may finally go public early next year.

Brazil's federal government will sponsor 36 gay pride parades this year through its national program against AIDS.

The groundbreaking Gay Show celebrates its second year tomorrow. The radio show, hosted by Shoichi Iwashita, discusses important gay news and issues, fashion, music, and pop culture. It is broadcast on Sundays at 11 pm in São Paulo, but you can also listen to it at The Gay Show.

Gisele's Much Talked About Interview

The big gossip item in the country this week was Gisele's interview on Allure simply because she mentioned that she gained 15 pounds after she quit smoking two and a half years ago. My favorite quote from the article, however, was: "I'm always saying that I am only successful because of my boobs and my hair." You gotta love her for that.

Gisele is confirmed to make another sexy appearance on the runway for Colcci at Fashion Rio in June (rumors are that she may even sport a bikini). Images from her new ad campaign for Brazilian jeweller Vivara are after the jump.

A Little Chest Hair Goes A Long Way

This month Nova magazine (the Brazilian Cosmopolitan) asked soap hunk Marcos Pasquim the recipe for the perfect girlfriend. I don't think even women are interested in his answer when he is shirtless in the promotional picture for the article.

Actors Sergio Marone and Max Fercondini are also featured in the article. Their pictures are after the jump.
