Swimsuit Saturday

The 2007 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue has been out for a while, so it was about time I mentioned there is a great spread with Brazilian models shot at Txai Resort in Bahia. Go behind the scenes with Ana Beatriz Barros in the video below:

Carnaval 2007: More Banda de Ipanema

Even Borat made a special appearance at Tuesday's Banda de Ipanema. About 30,000 people celebrated the last day of Carnival by the beach in Ipanema. I was busy tanning and recovering from my night at the sambódromo to cover it, but as soon as the sun went down I went to Farme de Amoedo with friends, and partied in a bar protected by barricades until 1:30 am, when the music finally stopped. There are pictures after the jump.

It's Fashion Week In Milan And...

Gisele made a special cameo opening and closing the Dolce & Gabbana fall show, where the dominatrix turned sexy librarian turned cyborg hunter look from spring was given a winter treatment, and Madonna played on the soundtrack. It was rich (who else would cover a fur coat in silk?), and very powerful. Click here for the video.

Marni was one of my favorite women's collections for spring, and is destined to become one of my favorites for fall as well. It was intellectual, sportive, sophisticated, young, and modern at the same time (and it featured some of the craziest fur gloves of the season). Consuelo Castiglioni even managed to show Mr. Herchcovitch how to make a PVC dress desirable.

While everyone is still showing oversized bags, Miuccia is bringing the cluth back (and she even added a smart strap to it). Clever as always with her accessories, she also suggested a new way to wear stockings. Did I mention Daiane Conterato took 3 turns on the runway again?

Did I mention that the new Brazilian girl of the season is Carolina Pantoliano? She also stepped on the Prada fall runway 3 times. Watch out for her.

After turning out one of the best menswear collections of the season under his own label, Raf Simons finally did Jil Sander better than Ms. Sander herself.

Raquel opened the Gucci show, which was a feminine approach to the alps-friendly men's fall collection mixed with spring 2006. The leather bomber jacket Madonna made famous during her "Hung Up" performances made a comeback with a little fur trim.

Carol Trentini opened for Bottega Veneta. I loved the spring collection, but fall was just odd and lacked ease. What really matters here though is that there is probably already a long waiting list for the woven lizard bags.

Did Mr. Cavalli watch too much "Mommy Dearest" during a recent safari?

If you are a woman, get used to the idea that you will have to wear a cape. Even the design team at the Gap is probably coming up with their version of it at this very moment.

Candygirl

I gotta give it up to director Matthew Rolston, Christina Aguilera and her army of male dancers:

Carnaval 2007: Garoto The Week

The boys who stayed in São Paulo for Carnival were treated to a contest to select a new go-go boy to join the already hot team of dancers at The Week.

The winner was 24-year-old latin stud Pablo Adriano, who beat 13 other candidates for the title. Expect to see him in action at the club soon.

More pictures of Carnaval da Ferveção at G Online. There was also a lot of go-go boy action at Carnaval do Basfond.

BBB7: No Red Underwear Allowed

Diego (a.k.a. Alemão) had already showered naked earlier in the season. Last night while he was sleeping Airton and the other contestats took off his (red) underwear, and he was a pretty good sport about it.
