Video Music Brasil 2006

While New York is getting ready for the VMAs this Thursday, MTV Brasil has just announced the nominees for this year's Video Music Brasil. The Black Eyed Peas, Green Day, Madonna, Nickelback, and Simple Plan are up for Best International Video. Here are some of my favorite Brazilian videos up for awards:

The French Diaries Part II

Before I start, I would like to dedicate this post to my Mexican friend Eric, who looked very cute at dinner last night.

Now I could easily write about all the millions of things I saw in Paris, but you can read about that on a Frommers guide, so why bother? I have to say that the one thing I would recommend though is lunch at Georges at the Pompidou Center (where these pictures were taken) because the view is amazing. The food is not memorable, and neither is the staff, but nothing tops the views even on a rainy day.

The Balenciaga exhibit at the Musée de la Mode is also not to be missed if you happen to visit Paris until January of next year. It is beautifully put together, and even my brother who happens to be as straight as they come enjoyed it.

I am not really big on shopping when I travel except for when I find things which are not available in New York. I prefer sitting by a cafe, ordering a few drinks, and watching people go by, but I must admit that I did stop by Colette since I had never been to the store before. Call me boring, but it failed to amuse me. It is a mini-Barney's with much better display and a few CDs to choose from. Is that the best the Parisians can come up with? The place to really see some glamour is the new Louis Vuitton store, which is truly amazing.

Now forget tourism, my brief nightlife review is after the jump.

Fair Trade Kicks

Last weekend while shopping in Paris with my brother we came across some very cool sneakers, and then found out that they were called Veja and made (where else?) in Brazil. We were both surprised because we had never seen them in Brazil, but they were all over Paris in funky color combinations. While browsing the web this morning, I found more about the vintage-inspired sneakers at Erika Palomino. I already knew they were made with wild Amazon rubber and organic cotton, but I did not know they were created by French designers Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillon, and that they were also available in Japan, Canada, and the US (at Scout in Los Angeles). Now how about making them available in Brazil as well? Prices were about 70 Euros.

Fotolog Of The Week: Leo Play RJ

Since I think I have published almost every single fotolog available, I decided to also start exploring the boys at Flogão, another Brazilian fotolog server. To start this new chapter, I think I found just the right exhibitionist in Leo Play RJ. This is definitely a boy who is not afraid to pose.

Warning: Narcissism is taken to the next level after the jump.

Gisele For Good Skin

La Bündchen was in Brazil last week for a single day only to photograph the new campaign for Nivea cosmetics with Bob Wolfenson. More images of the making of at Ego.
