Broadway's The Phantom of The Opera opened in São Paulo last week and has become the biggest production to ever hit the country, with an estimated cost of US$10 million. The songs were all adapted to Portuguese in order to hit the target audience of 600,000 people during the play's 18-month run. I am so intrigued by what the phantom sounds like in Portuguese (thinking that it just can't be right) that I might go check it out myself.
