Amy Winehouse has been in the country for almost a week, relaxing by the pool at her hotel in Santa Teresa, and performing in Florianópolis and Rio. Apparently she's been disappearing in the middle of the concert and then ramdomly coming back on stage during her one hour show, but so far all reviews of her concert have been pretty positive here. She is playing in Recife tomorrow night, and in São Paulo on the 15.
Buati is hosting a fashion edition in honor of the fall shows in Rio this coming Friday at Erótika, with DJs Gustavo Tatá, Jonjo Jury, Carla Multedo, and Badenov.
The 18thFestival MixBrasil de Cinema opens tonight in São Paulo. François Sagat is in town for the screening of Bruce LaBruce's LA Zombie, which should be reason enough to check out the festival. For the complete schedule, click here.
Monday is (another) national holiday in Brazil, and the weekend is loaded with parties. Rio is hosting its 15th Annual Gay Pride parade this Sunday. If you happen to be in the city, don't miss another edition of the Buati party at Erotika on Friday, DJ Tony Moran spinning at The Week on Saturday night, and The Original Brazilian Pool Party at Clube Internacional de Regatas on Sunday afternoon.
If you are spending the holiday weekend in São Paulo, I highly recommend checking out Balada Mixta on Saturday night. If you are more in the mood for a circuit party, The Week will be hosting its much talked about Acqua Play party at a water park on Sunday afternoon with guest DJs Tony Moran and Peter Rauhofer. It looks like it will be a lot of fun.
Caroline Trentini finally made an appearance in New York yesterday at Oscar de la Renta. Voluptious models may have been the new black at the fall shows, but this was not the season for curves (or for Brazilian girls) in New York.

There is a Brazilian in the cast of Logo's new "gay housewives" show. His name is Rodiney Santiago, and according to Gawker his claim to fame is dating Reichen Lehmkuhl, also obviously in the show.
The 14th Annual São Paulo Gay Pride Parade this weekend is expected to bring in about R$ 200 million in revenue, with 3 million people expected at the parade this year. If you plan on attending, I recommend going on the early side around 1 or 2 in the afternoon, and not staying until very late for safety reasons. For Made In Brazil's Party Guide for Gay Pride weekend, click here.
Bootie, the biggest bootleg mashup party in the world, is landing in Rio on May 14 thanks to my friend Fabiano Moreira. The party will take place at Fosfobox, and the line up includes A+D, André Paste, Lucio K, and DJs Billy, the Kid, and Schlaepfer. Visit Bootie Rio for updates on the party, and several mashups up for dowload.

The 10th season of Big Brother Brazil ends tonight, with Fernanda, Cadu, and Dourado up for the R$1.5 million prize. I don't really care who wins at this point, but I would prefer to see Cadu or Fernanda win the show (especially after reading things like this and this).
Beyoncé landed in Florianópolis this morning and headed straight to her hotel. She is performing in the city tonight, and spending the day tomorrow at Ponta dos Ganchos Exclusive Resort.
Another video of Big Brother Brazil contestant Cadu showering.
