Raquel Zimmermann looks stunning in the cover of the 20th anniversary issue of Elle Brazil, photographed by Jacques Dequeker.

With so many covers, edits, and ad campaigns, I wonder if she ever has any time to rest.

Anna Wintour may have tried to steal the scene last night at the Met Costume Institute Gala channeling an alien cocoon in Chanel Haute Couture, but it was La Bündchen who got all the attention in a super sexy Atelier Versace gown, accessorized with a hot football player.

Next year Ms. Wintour better pair Francisco Costa with a shorter celeb. He looks like a hobit next to Liv Tyler. Same goes to Thakoon, who had probably the second best date of the night, Raquel Zimmermann.

Quick thank you note to my friends Billy and Matthew for The Little Black Book Of Style I got on Monday. I love it and can't believe you guys did that. Now if you could only get Nina Garcia to pose with a Made In Brazil sign.
The latest issue of Vogue, with La Bündchen and LeBron on the cover, is as Brazilian as Vogue America is ever going to get. Other than the biggest Brazilian export on the cover, Carol Trentini is on pretty much every feature, La Zimmermann has the hottest spread, and Oskar Metsavaht of Osklen gets a full-page nod.

And to think that the four of them are all Southern (like myself). More scans from Raquel's edit with Bryan Clay and Trentini's with Michael Phelps after the jump.

Forget about Adriana Lima on the latest GQ. The sexiest cover so far this season is definitely Raquel Zimmermann on Hercules magazine.

I bought the previous issue of Hercules, and really liked the editorial content. I am going to try to get a copy of the issue with Raquel while I am in New York because it'll be impossible to find in Brazil.
I have just died and gone to supermodel heaven: Raquel, Bruna, Flavia, Isabeli, Caroline Ribeiro, and Caroline Trentini, backstage at the Oscar de la Renta show in New York.

It is going to be pretty hard to top what my friend JD Ferguson accomplished here. I am freaking loving it.

Reinaldo Lourenco looked at cowboy boots for inspiration for his fall collection, and the result was probably one of his best collections to date, and one of my favorites so far this week. It was conceptual, elegant, and rich.

Apparently western is also going to be the inspiration for Herchcovitch's men's collection shown on Monday.
Unfortunately designer Mario Queiroz has not moved on from his 90's gay aesthetic yet, sending out boys dressed in patent leather jackets and jeans, leather jumpsuits, a skirt, and metal masks I had seen a year ago at the Dolce & Gabbana show. It is time for Mr. Queiroz to hire some young blood to bring his label forward a decade or two.

Luckily the Mario Queiroz show produced these shots of model Matheus Verdelho backstage.

BBC reported this week on the absence of black models on Brazilian catwalks. "There are several black models who do shows, and there aren't more because I believe the history of the black race in Brazil is still about having little access," commented Paulo Borges, the man behind SPFW. I could not agree more. The only two black girls I have seen working this week are Carmelita (Ford) and Gracie (MM).

This season is all about exclusive bookings, and Animale had plenty of them in its São Paulo debut yesterday. Even though Jeisa, Solange, Thalita, and Ana Beatriz were booked for the show, Raquel Zimmermann was certainly the big star, being followed by a mob of photographers, and having to get ready in a private dressing room. Not since Gisele at Colcci I had seen so many journalists trying to interview a model.
Below are videos of La Zimmermann entering the Animale dressing room, and opening the show.
Raquel Zimmermann scores the cover of the first issue of Brazilian Vogue of the year, shot by Henrique Gendre.

I have a feeling the picture is a leftover from the Animale campaign shoot. More after the jump.

It was about time: Gemma Ward graduates to Icon status, and Raquel Zimmermann finally takes the number one spot at Models.com Top 50 Models. She is followed closely by fellow Southern Brazilian Carol Trentini at number five.
The first time I ever saw Raquel was about seven or eight years ago while I was working as an intern for a New York designer. She was doing fittings for our show after being dropped from Ralph and several others. She was dropped from our show too that season. Now just look how far she has gone since Miuccia picked her to open a Prada show. It won't be long until she is called an icon as well.
Raquel Zimmermann stars in the ad spot for the new Gucci By Gucci fragrance, shot by none other than David Lynch.
Gucci girls Natasha Poly and Freja Beja also made the cut. Make sure to also check out the behind the scenes video of the shoot. It is even better than the actual commercial.

Not only did Raquel Zimmermann score the cover of the 50th issue of V magazine, but also a very appropriate 50-page editorial by David Sims.

I have absolutely no idea how she finds the time to shoot so much editorial work. More here.
The magazine hits newstands this week. Can't wait to get it in Brazil.

Raquel Zimmermann may actually be the model with the most fashion campaigns under her belt this season. Here is her latest conquest: the ck Calvin Klein campaign photographed by David Sims.

Three of the hottest Brazilian models is reason enough for me to keep on posting the ads for the DSquared2 fall 2007 campaign. On this one, Caroline Trentini goes topless to match Andre Ziehe.

Just got through the Vogue Fashion Rocks! supplement, and love the Craig McDean pictures of Raquel inspired by Janis Joplin.

La Zimmermann is also on the cover of this month's issue of Brazilian Elle. Check it out after the jump.

For some unknown reason, I love resort collections. Karl Lagerfeld loves them too, and has consistently put out resort presentations that are as elaborate as the ones created for Chanel couture. This season, Chanel held the resort show at a plane hangar in LA. Raquel opened, and Lagerfeld's much coveted bodyguard Sébastien made a cameo (twice on the runway).

Ms. Roitfeld is always one step ahead of Anna: although this editorial on the May issue of Vogue Paris was also photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, it certainly beats the boho pictures of Raquel on Vogue America. There are more scans after the jump.
It is not often you get to see them together on the same page: southern Brazilian models Raquel Zimmermann and Caroline Trentini on the May issue of Vogue, photographed by Steven Meisel.

Vogue Paris had already paired them earlier this year in a football editorial.
Although Anna Wintour selected Raquel as one of the new supermodels gracing the cover of the May issue of Vogue, the Brazilian model has been around for a long time. Her rise to fame was opening for Prada several seasons ago, and yet editors can't get enough of her.

A very exclusive picture of new face Chanel Iman with Brazilians Carol Trentini and Raquel Zimmermann at a party last night for the May issue of Vogue. One more after the jump.
It is very refreshing to actually see models on the cover of American Vogue. Here is the much anticipated May issue, with Brazilians Carol Trentini and Raquel Zimmermann.

The one thing I am not getting though is why they are calling it The World's Next Top Models when Carol alone has been shooting Vogue back to back for the past two years. Hilary Rhoda and Agyness Deyn are sort of new, and Chanel Iman has not shot anything major aside from the Meisel cover, but Lily Donaldson and Doutzen Kroes? Give me a freaking break. As much as I like the girls chosen, there is nothing new about them. This issue should have been called Anna Wintour's Protégées.
Raquel Zimmermann did not make it to Fashion Rio this past January for the Animale runway show, but looks amazing at her second stint as the face of the Brazilian label.

Raquel Zimmermann proves why she is on top of her game on the new V magazine #46, in which Mario Testino shot her with and without clothes. The peep show is after the jump.

Carol Trentini, Bruna Tenorio, and Raquel Zimmermann. Now where were usual suspects Flavia, Daiane, and Jeisa?
Also, didn't it feel like the Chanel Fall 2007 collection had been designed by Marc Jacobs instead of Kaiser Karl? And btw, if you are a guy, this look may have been styled for runway purposes only. Don't try the scarf thing.
Now who is this kid with hairstylist Odile Gilbert? Cute.
This girl just does not stop working. After a season loaded with campaigns for The Gap, H&M, Louis Vuitton, and many others, Raquel Zimmermann is doing nothing less than Chloe and Fendi for spring 2007.

Raquel was also mentioned in the New York Times last week as the beauty ideal of the moment. She was supposed to be walking the runway exclusively for Animale next week at Fashion Rio, but is going to have to skip the event due to a twisted ankle.
