He scored his 4th gold medal this morning at the 200 medley, and then a 5th one at the 4 x 100 freestyle without even competing today (he had competed in the semifinals, securing his spot on the podium).

With 5 gold medals under his belt, Thiago is the Brazilian swimmer with the most gold medals ever at the Pan-American Games. Now if only he would wear a speedo.

Stalking The Brazilian Gymnasts

It is hard to forget the tragic plane accident which has taken over every news vehicle in the country, but I thought I would try to steer away from it a little, and bring people some fun today. Earlier this week a reader sent me links to the orkut profiles of several member of the Brazilian men's gymnastics team, and I obviously had to take a look. The victims here are Vitor Camargo, Luiz Augusto, Victor Rosa, and Gabriel Biel.

The stalking continues after the jump. Now who has links to profiles of all the swimmers?

Who Knew The Games Could Be This Hot?

Although little is published about it on American media, the 2007 Pan-American Games in Rio start today. Here is my way to get you interested in the event.

Who knew Brazil had a hockey team? And that they practiced shirtless?

Who knew judo fighter Flavio Canto would become a sex symbol aside from already being one of the country's most successful athletes?

Who knew there was a poll to elect the male muse of the games in Rio? Flavio Canto was up for it, but the winner was wakeboarder Marcelo Giardi.

Now here is one thing I already knew: that the gymnasts will provide some of the best content come next week.

And on the topic of gymnastics, who knew Brazilian gymnast Vitor Rosa would become my new obsession? Can someone please make sure all of his appearances are uploaded onto YouTube?

Just because there is a new hot gymnast in my heart, that doesn't mean I have forgotten about Diego Hypolito. I hope he scores a medal on floor.

More on the Pan-American games and the opening ceremony coming on Monday.

Gearing Up For The Pan American Games

Unfortunately I will not be able to cover the 2007 Pan American Games live from Rio this month, but I will do my best to keep you updated with what is going on at the event which starts on July 13.

The stage for the big opening cerimony is being assembled at Maracana, and apparently a big snake is also part of the celebration.

Where else in the world does the torch for the games ride on a jetski?

I have developed a certain obsession with gymnast Diego Hypolito and Lucas Vita from the national waterpolo team.

Check out pictures gymnastics training session, the one event I would love to be able to attend.

Click here to listen to the official song of the event, performed by Arnaldo Antunes and Ana Costa.

The mascot is a silly little sun called Cauê. Couldn't someone have come up with something better?
