  • Romulo Pires in the latest Uniqlo ads.
  • Gucci's new spring 2010 ad campaign.
  • On my shopping list:  new Dior Homme sneakers.
  • Samantha Ronson spinned in São Paulo on Thursday night, but apparently the party was a big flop.
  • The baby with the best genetic code on the planet now has a name: Benjamin Brady.
  • Beyoncé will kick off Carnival in Salvador with a concert for 50,000 people on February 10. Singer Ivete Sangalo will open her concerts in Salvador and in São Paulo.

EY!, The AMAs, Victoria's Secret, Dolce & Gabbana, And New Moon

  • Hello Germany! Here is a preview of the latest issue of EY! Magateen, photographed by Kira Bunse.
  • Not even Lady Gaga's bottle smashing performance saved the AMAs from being the tackiest awards show so far this year (and I'm not just saying that because of Carrie Underwood's outfit). I did not watch the show until the end because of the three hour time difference in Brazil, but I learned this morning that Jennifer Lopez was not the only performer who fell on stage
  • Was Glambert's sex-charged performance supposed to be shocking? Watch it here, and read what my friend Arjan has to say about the show last night.
  • Shakira outdanced everyone. Love her.
  • JakAndJil's Tommy Ton goes backstage at the 2009 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
  • Coco Rocha was in São Paulo over the weekend shooting the new ad campaign for Lanca Perfume, a brand which I honestly didn't even know until now.
  • Jesus Luz spinned at Hiro on Saturday night.
  • Preview the upcoming Dolce & Gabbana spring 2010 menswear ad campaign.
  • New backstage shots of the 2010 Pirelli calendar photographed by Terry Richardson in Trancoso.
  • Did you watch New Moon over the weekend? I guess pretty much everyone did considering it broke the single-day record with $72.7 million on Friday, and closed the weekend as the third largest film debut ever. I have to admit that I read all the Twilight books last January and they were fun, but not even Taylor Lautner's wet ripped abs and delts could compensate for Kristen Stewart's acting in the movie. Dakota Fanning's three minutes on screen were seriously the best part of the whole thing. I am now officially Team Jane.

Can Do Começo Ao Fim Live Up To Its Hype?

The much anticipated Brazilian movie Do Começo Ao Fim, about two half-brothers who fall in love, premiered last night at the opening of the 17th Annual MixBrasil Film Festival in São Paulo. I had the pleasure of attending the premiere, which was so packed that there people standing and sitting on the floor to watch the movie. Director Aluizio Abranches introduced the movie, along with the cast and actress Julia Lemmertz, who plays the mother. Watch their speech in the video below.

Do Começo Ao Fim starts playing in Brazil on November 27. My thoughts on the movie after the jump.

  • The 17th MixBrasil Film Festival opens tonight with the official premiere of the much anticipated Do Começo Ao Fim, and a bash at The Week in São Paulo. For those of you who can't wait until November 27 to see the movie, advance screenings are scheduled for this Saturday in São Paulo and Rio. For the complete schedule of the 17th MixBrasil Festival, click here.
  • Jason Lewis will be landing in Brazil next month to start shooting the new TV pilot Rio!, in which he will play an international detective who comes to Brazil to investigate a crime, and decides to stay after he falls in love with Rio. Ving Rhames is also in the cast of the show.
  • Lorenzo Martone has teamed up with former Elite marketing director Ryan Brown to ARC NY, a public relations agency just for models. According to Fashionista, Alessandra Ambrósio, Fernanda Motta are already clients. As for Lorenzo and Marc Jacobs' wedding, I guess it will have to wait until next year.
  • São Paulo hipsters got a brand new club with the opening of Hot Hot last night.
  • Also worth checking out: Model Matheus de Davi in the new 212 Carolina Herrera ad campaign, Milan Vukmirovic for VMan, Isabeli Fontana and Felipe Hulse in the summer C&A ad spots, and Cathy Horyn getting a lesson from J. Alexander.
  • Madonna (yes, more Madonna!) is in São Paulo this afternoon. She visited Casa do Saber, where she attended a Kabbalah lesson for kids, and had lunch at the Fasano. No word yet if she will be making it to Michael Berg's lecture at the Kabbalah Center in Jardins this evening, but there are already fans waiting there to meet her. In the meantime, Steven Klein is in Rio shooting the new Rosa Chá campaign.

Does This Mean No Olympics In 2016?

2012rio

That is probably the fastest way of getting rid off violence and crime in Rio in time for the 2016 Olympics.

If you haven't watched the new trailer for 2012 yet, watch it here. The geek in me just can't wait to see all those special effects.
