15 Brazilian Girls Walked The FNO Show, But Where Was Raquel?

From top to bottom, left to right: Tayane Leão, Izabel Goulart, Fabiana Semprebom, Martha Streck, Bruna Tenório, Jeisa Chiminazzo, Thana Kuhnen, Laís Ribeiro, Daiane Conterato, Aline Weber, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrósio, Flavia de Oliveira, Caroline Trentini, and Gisele.

I hadn't really commented on the big Fashion's Night Out show at Lincoln Center because I was shooting on location all day yesterday. I finally got to read everything about it and watch some clips this morning, and it looked like quite an undertaking. So thrilled to see many Brazilian girls on the runway, and while I did not really miss Isabeli, I really wish Raquel Zimmermann had also been part of it. Already cannot wait to watch the FNO documentary.

Dissecting The November Issue Of Vogue Brazil

The cover of November's Vogue Brazil promises "Chic With A Twist," but I flipped through the entire issue and I am still wondering where that twist is. And if by twist the magazine meant striped sweaters paired with bikini bottoms, chain belts, pearls, and Chanel flowers, I have some news for the editors: that does not qualify as twist even in my straight 8-year-old brother's dictionary.

On the bright side, I don't mind the cover of the magazine much this month, even though it was shot on white seamless again. I guess I just respond positively to anything with bright pink text. The editorial work, on the other side, has nothing bright about it. View the three stories from the November issue after the jump.

The Campana Brothers, Rosa Chá, And Destination: Brazil At The MoMA

  • Cb051809 Antibodies: the biggest retrospective of the work of Fernando and Humberto Campana opened on Saturday at the Vitra Design Museum in Rhein, Germany.
  • Designer Amir Slama is leaving Rosa Chá, and Alexandre Herchcovitch has been hired to step in as the new creative director for the label. Seriously, this is like hiring Roberto Cavalli to do Jil Sander.
  • Osklen developed two bags for MoMA's Destination: Brazil. Over 70 other Brazilian designer pieces will be available at the museum's store throughout July.
  • Catherine McNeil talks to JD Ferguson about not wanting to leave Brazil. Now we all know she is also one of the girls cast for the 2010 Pirelli calendar shot in Bahia by Terry Richardson.
  • Inez and Vinoodh photographed La Zimmermann for the fall Jean Paul Gaultier campaign.
  • Martha Penz is the latest model to go platinum.
  • Alessandra Ambrósio, Flavia de Oliveira, and Gracie Carvalho in a new Victoria's Secret commercial.
  • Cariocas.
  • A month-long bar food festival in Belo Horizonte.
  • Darth Vader in a frock? The Cut dissects Anna Wintour's twelve-minute 60 Minutes segment.

The Hottest Casting Of The Season

Forget Gisele at Colcci or Agyness at Ellus. With the likes of Raquel, Ana Beatriz, Marcelle Bittar, Daiane, Aline Weber, Bruna Tenório, and Flávia Oliveira, it was Animale that has the most exciting casting this season in São Paulo.

Look #1

After being a little absent last season, I am thrilled to see Flavia Oliveira working the runways in São Paulo this week (because not many girls can walk like she can). She opened Forum Tufi Duek yesterday, and told me before the show that she is headed to Paris next to do couture.
