  • In case you haven't had enough of Jesus Luz this week, here are more pictures of him in Argentina.
  • I am sad to report that Marcelo Campos Barros, the 35-year-old man which was attacked in downtown São Paulo last Sunday during Gay Pride, was confirmed brain dead yesterday. Barros did not attend the parade, and the police is still investigating the case. The São Paulo LGBT Pride Association has released an official statement today demanding "a thorough investigation of the violent crimes which took place on Sunday in order to bring their perpetrators to justice." The Association has schedule a protest against homophobia for this Saturday, June 20, at Avenida Dr. Vieira de Carvalho, where a homemade bomb was thrown from a building last Sunday, leaving several people injured.
  • Another Pride-related incident not yet reported by newspapers: a young man was brutally beat up by a transvestite and 5 men inside downtown gay nightclub Cantho after the parade last Sunday.

  • Designer Amir Slama is leaving Rosa Chá, and Alexandre Herchcovitch has been hired to step in as the new creative director for the label. Seriously, this is like hiring Roberto Cavalli to do Jil Sander.
  • Osklen developed two bags for MoMA's Destination: Brazil. Over 70 other Brazilian designer pieces will be available at the museum's store throughout July.
  • Catherine McNeil talks to JD Ferguson about not wanting to leave Brazil. Now we all know she is also one of the girls cast for the 2010 Pirelli calendar shot in Bahia by Terry Richardson.

Aren't They Lovely?

I am not a big fan of the new C&A Mother's Day commercial, but I will buy into any excuse to watch Caroline Trentini, Emanuela de Paula, and Alessandra Ambrósio in action together.

Btw, there are rumors going around that C&A may sign Raquel Zimmermann as soon as the contract with Caroline, Emanuela, and Alessandra expires in September.
