Less than six months after two paintings worth about $55 million were stolen from the São Paulo Museum of Art, three armed robbers left the Pinacoteca Museum in São Paulo yesterday with four works of art in broad daylight. The works of art stolen were not insured, and included two Picasso prints, a Lasar Segall, and a Di Cavalcanti, worth a combined $615K. The heist was caught by the security camera of the museum, but no suspects have been arrested yet.
The Ford Models For Art’s Sake benefit put together by my dear friend Matthew Hunt in New York managed to raise $125K in only two hours thanks to the brilliant idea of enlisting 38 major artists to develop original artwork with the help of the agency's board. The sale benefited ACRIA, the Aids Community Research Initiative of America.

Another chapter in the case of the Brazilian gay couple in the military: sargeant Fernando Alcântara de Figueiredo is being sued by the Army for not wearing the proper attire when taping an interview for Época magazine and for a television show. He is also being accused of hiding information about the location of his partner prior to his arrest on Tuesday of last week. According to Fernando, the accusations are not legitimate. What more can you expect from an institution such as the Brazilian Army which still considers homosexuality to be a punishable crime?

Well...you sound as that would never happen in other countries. You spend a lot of time abroad, so one would think that you'd know better than that.
In which country that you know to have gays in the military is something to be proud of? Please let me know...

The Military Penal Code doesn't consider homosexuality a crime. It considers every sex act a crime - either a homo or a heterosexual - if practised inside barracks or similtar military buildings. Check out article 235 (http://www.planalto.gov.br/ccivil_03/Decreto-Lei/Del1001.htm)
