You may have read here already that BBB contestant Marcelo came out to a few contestants last Friday and over the weekend. Since then, his coming out post on his blog has received more than 1,400 comments, some congratulating him on being upfront about his sexuality, and others criticizing him for exploring it to win the gay vote and empathy from the viewers.
Regardless of the actual reason for his coming out (it is obvious that his being gay will keep him in the house longer), I am going to beg him to stop wearing these sandals because they are seriously harmful to the image of gay men. Not even a gay bear would sport such devastatingly ugly footwear. Can someone from the production team hand him some Havaianas?
Considering a gay man has already won the show, my feeling is that Marcelo is not going to take home the R$ 1 million prize. Watch his coming out on national television here.
And fyi, some blogs are speculating that there are may be two other gay men on the show.

you must not look at the footwear gay brazilians are wearing at the clubs of sao paulo, rio and florianopolis (and every other brazilian city i have been as well). 7 out of 8 guy is wearing running shoes. if that is not bad enough, third of those are silver colored. 1/16 is wearing sporty footwear that is not made for running (converse, pumas etc) and 1/16 is wearing footwear that can be considered classy. although the last 1/16 are probably argentinians visiting brazil.

I think he should get a footwear designer to sign him up and send him shoes. Hello? Endorsement deals make it a win-win situation.
