I was fortunate enough that my friends got me credentials to one of the VIP areas for the parade at the Sambódromo last night in Rio. Believe it or not, I had never been there in person, and it was simply amazing. The energy is undescribable, so I did my best to capture some of it in pictures.

Ja fez uma linkagem ao meu blog, que tambem tem fotos da Carnaval, incluindo umas dos varios blocos no Rio.
(Numa delas, umas pessoas cheias de mal humor vieram para me sacanear sobre minhas opinões sarcasticas sobre o bairro nobre, Santa Teresa! Imagina isso. Logo dissem que Brasileiro não tem sentido de humor ;)

A friend of mine who was there, said she took a pic with him, seeing how much of a Tricolor I am. Vamo Flu!

This looks truly amazing! Now I'm sorry I'm not there for Carnavale.
I'm taking my first trip to Brazil in two weeks. I'll be in Rio and Salvador over March 7-20. Any recommendation on places I can't miss while I'm there. Where should I buy a bathing suit once I arrive?
I love this blog and have been following it for over a year now. Slowly you're Brazilianizing me!! And I love it.
