The fifth issue of Junior magazine does not hit newstands until Tuesday of next week, but thanks to the editors Made In Brazil has a few exclusive pictures of the spread with coverboy Romulo Arantes.

Apparently Jim Carrey is not the only on-screen male love interest Rodrigo Santoro will have this year. His character in the Argentine movie Leonera, which opened in Cannes yesterday, also has a bit of a gay twist. The movie revolves around an incarcerated woman struggling to raise her son from prison, and Santoro plays the love interest of the husband she killed. His character also develops a relationship with the woman, played by Martina Gusman. Watch the trailer here.
Leonera is not Rodrigo's only reason for being in Cannes this year. He is also promoting Steven Soderbergh's Che, in which he plays Cuban president Raul Castro.

Actor Dado Dolabella is becoming the international poster boy for Ipanema lately. Thanks to the good weather in Rio and the efficient Brazilian paparazzi, here are pictures of him at the beach yesterday.

They would have looked like the models on Monday's Dior resort show, which was pure poolside perfection, and full of Brazilian faces: Daiane, Flavia, Camila, Michelle, and Drielly.
Resort has officially become my favorite season. Perhaps because it is less intense, the collections look more fun, bright, and actually wearable. I mean, had you seen Daiane Conterato looking that slightly cheerful before?

After watching David Cook's final performance on American Idol last night, you know he wants to win.
"A chihuahua trying to be a tiger," but even with the freaky stage dad you can't help but to want to vote for Archuleta. I am fairly certain that we will be seeing him on the finals (and that he will win).
The hairstylist finally managed to do something fabulous with Syesha Mercado's hair. Unfortunately, and in spite of a pretty decent performance, I don't think he will get a chance to repeat the look on her again next week.
And yes, that is model Leandro Okabe in leather pants on the new cover.

The winner of the contest, however, will not be determined by the number of online votes, but by VMan's editor Stephen Gan. Actor Romulo Arantes Neto made headlines this weekend for stating that "transvestites are not happy people" when asked about the scandal involving soccer star Ronaldo on an interview to Folha de São Paulo. Knowing Romulo, I am fairly certain that the sad statement was taken out of context, and that he did not mean it as it was printed, especially considering he just posed for the cover of gay magazine Junior. Btw, I have just heard that he will play a mutant on the campy soap Caminhos do Coração.

Globo networks announced that it will again veto the gay kiss screenwriter Aguinaldo Silva wrote for the last episode of soap Duas Caras. To justify the veto, Globo claimed that a televised gay kiss does not fit the quality standards of the network.

Nightclub Megga Fun, which had recently opened in São Paulo, was shut down over the weekend. I wonder if DJ Hex Hector, who was scheduled to spin at the club, will now be playing at a different venue for Pride.

The São Paulo Gay Pride Association is working with the military police to guarantee that there will be a large improvement on security this year for the parade on Avenida Paulista. Still I would highly suggest keeping all your belongings neatly tucked inside your underwear if you are going to be attending. About 3.5 million are expected again.
São Paulo's gay mecca The Week is still the leading gay club in the city for one main reason: it is constantly changing for the better. Last week the club announced that it will be investing in a new high-tech roof to cover the outdoors pool area, just so that no one will have to worry about parties being canceled because of rain.
This coming Saturday DJs/producers Milk and Sugar will be spinning at the club to get the boys ready for all the Gay Pride festivities which kick off on Wednesday, May 21.
